It’s that time of the year again – here’s our pick of 10 fireworks and bonfire events to attend within 10 miles of Altrincham this weekend:
Bowdon Bonfire & Fireworks
Bowdon Cricket, Hockey and Squash Club will be celebrating its 48th annual Bonfire and Fireworks Display on Friday November 4th. There will be three displays at this year’s South Downs Road event, which kicks off at 6pm. Enjoy amusements, novelties, BBQs, refreshments and bars.
At 7pm, there will be a 10-minute children’s fireworks display, followed by the lighting of the bonfire and guy at 7.20pm. At 8pm, there will be a second 12-minute display, followed by the grand finale 14-minute display with co-ordinated music at 8.45pm.
Tickets can be bought from the club and a selection of retailers. Admission is £8 on the gate/£5 tickets bought in advance for children aged three to 13; or £15 on the gate/£10 tickets bought in advance for adults (aged 14 and over).

Wythenshawe
Wythenshawe Park’s fireworks display starts at 7.30pm. There will also be a funfair from 5pm to 9.30pm.

Chorlton
The Horse and Jockey pub’s popular Bonfire Night celebration returns with a children’s firework display on Chorlton Green at 7pm and another for the grown-ups at 9pm. There will also be an outdoor bar and barbecue all night. Free entry.

Bramhall
The 1st Bramhall Scout group’s annual bonfire and fireworks display returns to Hillbrook Grange Field, starting at 7pm. The bonfire will be lit at 7.15pm, followed by fireworks at 8pm. Entry £5 in advance or £6 on the night, including a burger or hot dog (vegetarian option available) and a drink.

Trafford Centre
The shopping centre’s fireworks spectacular is back with a bang on Sunday November 6th. The display begins in Barton Square at 6.30pm, choreographed to a musical soundtrack.

Lymm
The biggest fireworks display in and around Lymm takes place on Saturday November 5th at the Lymm Rugby Club.
The event is the only charity bonfire in the local area and hordes of families come down to lend their support. The event includes fun fair rides for all ages, countless catering outlets, music, and a disabled area where people in wheelchairs get a great view of the firework display. Plus there’s a smaller, less noisy display for children earlier in the evening.

Stretford
Stretford Cricket Club Bonfire Night will take place at The Boundary, Lesley Road, on Saturday November 5th.
The bonfire will be lit at 5.30pm, with firework displays at 7pm and 8pm.
There will be a bar and refreshments, including hotdogs and halal curry, and a fundraising raffle.
Entry is £5 for adults and £3 for children. A family ticket for five people costs £15.

Urmston
Urmston Lions Community Bonfire at Abbotsfield Park takes place on Saturday November 5th.
Gates open at 5.30pm and the bonfire will be lit at 7pm. Pyroscope Fire Spinners will be performing at 7.30pm, with a fireworks display lined up at the same time.
Proceeds will go to Urmston Lions Charity Fund. Tickets cost £5 for adults and £3 for children aged 16 and under and OAPs. Knutsford
Run every year since the 1970s, the Booths Park display starts at 7.30pm, with gates opening at 6.30pm.
You can buy your tickets in advance for £6, or they are £7.50 on the gate. Under 5’s free.

Sale
Bonfire and Firework Display at Trafford MV Rugby Club, Finny Bank Rd, Sale, on Saturday November 5th.
Family tickets cost £15, adults cost £5 and children £3 and can be bought from the club.
Gates open at 6pm and there will be no parking at the club. A BBQ, bar, glo sticks, sweets and soft drinks will be available.
