Chart-topping disco legends announced as headline act for Hale Barns Carnival

Chart-topping disco legends Odyssey are to headline the Hale Barns Carnival in July.

Chart-topping disco legends Odyssey are to headline the Hale Barns Carnival in July.

The New York-based group, which enjoyed a string of huge hits in the late 70s and early 80s including UK number one Use It Up and Wear It Out, will perform a full-length concert at the event on Sunday July 16th.

It will mark 40 years since the release of Native New Yorker, which reached number five in the UK charts in 1977, while the band enjoyed further top 10 hits with Going Back to My Roots, If You’re Lookin’ for a Way Out and Inside Out.

Watch the original Odyssey line-up performs No. 1 hit Use It Up and Wear It Out:

Odyssey is a real coup for the Hale Barns event, which will feature a packed programme over Saturday July 15th and Sunday July 16th and be based on the St Ambrose Playing Fields.

Alongside the headline act – who will be supported by renowned five-piece Groovy Revolution – will be numerous attractions, artists, artisan stalls, cooking demonstrations, animal displays, a classic car show, speciality beer tent, bouncy castle and rides, competitions and an outdoor cinema.

Organisers say the event is about “bringing the entire community together”.
