The Goose Green Summer Festival is back – and this time’s it’s over TWO days.

The event, which has been a huge success for the last two years, will take place over the Bank Holiday weekend of Saturday 26th August and Sunday 27th August.

It will form part of a wider Altrincham Soundbites festival throughout August, designed to celebrate Altrincham’s vibrant live music scene in venues across the town.

Altrincham Unlimited has teamed up with Trafford Sound and the Goose Green Traders Federation to bring together an impressive line-up of local bands and singers to Goose Green, mixing favourites from previous years with up-and-coming local artists, as well as attracting some strong local names.

Performers will include Jess Kemp, The Navettes, Plastic House, Blank Cheque and Courteous Thief, plus Green Room regulars The Henry Revue and Mark Coyle. The headliners on Saturday 26th August will be Feed the Kid, with The Rainband closing the festival on Sunday 27th August.

Entry to the Goose Green Summer Festival will once again be free of charge, and as well as live music from 12-7pm on both days, there will be street food and family-focused activities on offer throughout the day.

Katie Bland, BID Manager for Altrincham Unlimited, said: “Last year’s Goose Green Summer Festival was a huge success, with over 4,000 people attending the event over the course of the day. It would have been impossible to grow further within one day, so we’re delighted to be operating the festival over two days this year.

“The Goose Green Summer Festival will be just one element of a celebration of Altrincham’s growing music scene throughout the month of August, with a focus on live performances across the town, with discussions ongoing with businesses and partners about expanding the festival into other areas of the town and really showcasing the best of what Altrincham has to offer.”

Jon Belfield, director of Trafford Sound Radio, added: “We loved being involved with the Goose Green Summer Festival last year, and are really pleased with the line-up we’ve put together for this year’s event.

“Via our Wednesday night Live & Local show, we’ve got to know some brilliant local bands and singers, and can’t wait to see them on stage in Altrincham this August. In just two years the Goose Green Summer Festival has acquired a really strong name, and we’re looking forward to another fantastic bank holiday event in Altrincham this August.”
