Altrina, the good witch of Altrincham, is back as part of a bumper week of Halloween half-term fun.
Altrincham’s Business Improvement District (The BID) has organised a free family town trail, children’s Spooky Silent Discos with ‘Our Kids Social’ and ‘Explore Altrincham’ Family Ghost Tours with Jonathan Schofield.
The trail takes place from Tuesday 26th to Friday 29th October (10am to 4pm), with participants tasked with helping Altrina to find the dancing skeletons and solve their riddles.
A trail sheet can be collected from the ‘Not So Secret Garden’ in Stamford Square, or from Altrincham Interchange (Platform 4).
There will also be Spooky Silent Discos on Friday 29th October at the Best Western Cresta Court Hotel, on Church Street. There are two sessions taking place (11.30am-12.30pm and 1pm-2pm).
Tickets are just £3.95 per person and include the disco and themed games with prizes, plus an Addams family photo frame. There will also be face painting – fancy dress is optional. Tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite.
And if you would like to find out about Altrincham’s spooky past, join award-winning tour guide Jonathan Schofield for the ‘Explore Altrincham’ Family Ghost Tour on Friday 29th or Saturday 30th October (6-7pm).
Jonathan will lead you through the streets of Altrincham, uncovering the ghostly stories and horrible haunts from bygone days. This spectacularly spooky tour is suitable for the whole family but recommended for children aged 10+. Tickets are available on Eventbrite and cost £5 per person.
Mandy White, Altrincham BID Manager, said: “Come and enjoy the town and the half-term events, but also make sure you check out the reverse of the Halloween flyer for fantastic spooky offers and activities from some of the town’s businesses!”
