A new Mediterranean restaurant has opened in the Goose Green unit once occupied by Francs.
Noria - named after a Syrian machine for lifting water into an aqueduct - combines cuisines from Syria, Turkey and Greece.
It's run by co-owners Ahmed Hamwy, who fled Aleppo in 2015 after it notoriously became a key battleground of the Syrian civil war, and head chef Abdul Hasso.
The new restaurant has had a complete renovation since its most recent incarnation, as Wild Goose, and has been vacant since July 2022.
It has 90 covers and is open seven days a week, 12 noon to 11pm.
"It's very nice here in Goose Green, we're very happy to be open," said Ahmed. "Many people come for a drink to Goose Green as there are lots of bars here, but now they have a proper food restaurant to come to as well."
Noria will soon be launching a quick lunch menu aimed at office workers.
