Altrincham’s longest established live music venue is looking forward to a busy Christmas period.
The venue has been a perennially popular destination for atmospheric drinks and live music since it opened in 2007.
The venue has been a perennially popular destination for atmospheric drinks and live music since it opened in 2007.
Throughout the last 16 years it has put on live bands every Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with the number of performances now approaching 3,000.
Aside from numerous local bands, including reggae-influenced The Henry Revue Band, there have also been a number of standout intimate shows from stars including Mark Morriss of the Bluetones, Nigel Clark from Dodgy, Chris Helme of The Seahorses and Mark Coyle, the legendary producer of Oasis debut album Definitely Maybe.
And General Manager Mark Bowden said that the live music nights are as popular as ever.
“It's a great vibe here,” he said. “Without exception, when people are leaving at the end of the night they'll come up and say thanks for a great night.
“The age range is incredible - literally from 25 to 80. People are coming to enjoy themselves and age doesn’t matter.”
Live music gets underway on Thursday nights with an open mic night, followed by live performances on Fridays and Saturdays, when the Green Room is open until 2am.
Bowden said the bar is proving increasingly popular earlier in the evening, especially in the run-up to Christmas, with early evening acoustic shows on Saturday from 6pm.
“Over the years The Green Room in Altrincham has established itself as a beloved and thriving destination,” added Mark.
“With its inviting ambiance, exceptional service, and a wide range of live performances, it's no wonder that so many people choose to celebrate there.
“Whether it's an office party, a gathering of friends, or simply enjoying a few drinks in the heart of the town, The Green Room provides unforgettable nights out.
“As we approach the festive season and the excitement of Christmas builds, we are delighted to be a go-to choice for locals and visitors alike. We are open five days a week, from Wednesday to Sunday from 5pm.”
