“Something completely different”: Cheshire Cupcakes launches brunch menu

It opened on Market Street earlier this year.

Cheshire Cupcakes says it is offering something "completely different for Altrincham" with the launch of a new brunch menu.

Rosanagh Bailey, who opened the cake and coffee shop on Market Street in January, says the new menu combines healthier options with a few guilty pleasures - and will, for the first time, offer vegan products too.

She said: "Previously we have just focused on cupcakes, brownies, blondies and cookies, but now we want to develop the sit-in offer at the cafe.

"We won't be offering the usual eggs and avocado brunches that you can find elsewhere - this menu is completely different for Altrincham."

Signature dishes on the new menu include a freshly baked Croffle - a croissant and waffle hybrid - and a Strawberry Cheesecake Croissant, as well as a range of healthier options such as an Acai or Granola Bowl, or homemade Banana Bread.

Rosanagh started baking in her mum's kitchen back in 2016, eventually opening a takeaway-only shop in Nantwich in 2020.

She went on to open a stall at Altrincham Market before opening a bricks and mortar store just yards away in January.

Opening the eye-catchingly pink shop had been a great move, she said.

"We love it here. It's such a foodie hotspot and we've been welcomed by the community and surrounding businesses."

All Cheshire Cupcakes' products are produced at an off-site bakery on a farm in Nantwich, with the exception of cookies which are freshly baked in the Altrincham shop each morning.

"We try very hard to use as much local Cheshire produce as possible," added Rosanagh, "including our milk, butter, jams and oats, while our flour is milled in Stockport."

A key part of the business is now its custom cake offer, with party organisers able to personalise a range of cakes and cupcakes to suit their occasion.

And this autumn the shop will also launch an afternoon tea offer, as well as a new range of seasonal dishes.

So what feedback has Rosanagh had since opening in Altrincham?

"I think we're very different from a lot of bakeries in cafes here, and people also love our pink branding and our story that began in my home kitchen.

"A lot of people tell us that no one makes cakes taste as good as we do!"
