Delivered by post and email free each month, The Farmart Magazine is an agricultural supplier directory which is over 40 years old. 

Held in high regard amongst the agricultural community, distribution is predominantly around the North West, North Wales and North Midlands region. 

There are 7 staff members. 3 based in Altrincham, the others working from home. 

Media Business Assistant - Job Description

A vacancy has arisen for a dynamic and flexible individual to assist our Office and Copy Manager with the production of The Farmart Magazine each month.

The position is part-time, 9am-1pm Monday-Friday and based at our business in Altrincham Town Centre.

Highly responsible and varied, this is a busy role that requires excellent administration, organisational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for managing the digital & postal mailing database via an Excel spreadsheet
  • Deal with the post and manage returned magazines – remove addresses from the system as necessary
  • Act as a point of contact for queries from clients
  • Be responsible for handling routine email enquiries on behalf of the team – monitor the company inbox, respond to all relevant emails and file.
  • Organise the team department meetings including arranging meeting space, circulating agendas and taking minutes.
  • Creating monthly invoices via the MagManager booking system.  Sending these to accounts departments and sending receipts when required
  • Occasional phone calls to clients to confirm expected date of payment on any outstanding amount. 
  • Taking customer credit card payments.
  • Assist in organising internal and external events
  • Assist with data collection
  • Adding news & diary date information to the company website
  • Forward sales leads to Sales Reps
  • Be responsible for show preparation including exhibitor lists for mailshots, admin around shows and preparing marketing materials
  • Occasional attendance at Agricultural shows/events

Experience Required

  • You must have the ability to prioritise your workload, be well organised, and have excellent attention to detail
  • Experience working as an administrator, or hold similar related skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a proactive attitude
  • Strong computer literacy in all office applications
  • Basic web skills are desirable

We’re looking for someone with:

– An excellent telephone manner and strong written English skills.

– A calm under pressure demeanour for when deadlines are approaching.

– Strong IT skills in terms of using & manipulating pdfs/jpgs/Excel.

– Some basic knowledge of the agricultural industry or an appreciation of the countryside would be nice, but not essential.

– A professional manner, particularly when representing the firm at agricultural shows & events.

– An interest in marketing, social media & promotion activities.

Training on the Mag Manager publishing system would be given as this is where all our advert bookings and client information is stored.

Job Type: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £12.21per hour

Hours: 9am-1pm Monday-Friday.  Home working is not an option.
