Construction is underway on a £1.5m development in Timperley that will enable adults with physical and learning difficulties to live independently.
The two-storey building, to be known as Brindley Moss and located on Deansgate Lane, will comprise 12 modern and spacious one-bed apartments as well as associated communal areas, a lift and reception room.
Altrincham-based building contractor, McGoff & Byrne, has been appointed by supported living specialist HB Villages to deliver the purpose-built scheme, along with a similar £1.1m development in Coventry.
Both new developments are a relatively new concept and have been designed to provide a safe environment in which local adults with learning and physical difficulties can live independently with the freedom to manage their own home, budgets and lifestyle with support where needed.
Dave McGoff, executive director at McGoff & Byrne, said: “For each project, McGoff & Byrne has worked closely with HB Villages to develop the design and cost plan to ensure a robust proposal.
“This pre-construction expertise ensures that the time and cost parameters driven by the client are met with each build. We are delighted to be ahead of schedule with Timperley and are looking forward to the next project in Coventry.”
Jonathan Wrigley, managing director of Altrincham-based HB Villages, added: “We are committed to providing purpose-built supported living developments in every local authority in the country. These much-needed projects will provide a safe environment for vulnerable adults, allowing them to live independently with support as and where needed.
“It’s important these developments are built to the highest quality and that’s why we have appointed McGoff & Byrne as the contractor for both our Timperley and Coventry projects.”
The Timperley development will be ready by mid-December.
