Hale Barns Booths store launches bag design competition for local schoolchildren

Retailer Booths has launched a competition for school children to design a new ‘bag for life’ – to be exclusively available at its new Hale Barns store.

Retailer Booths has launched a competition for school children to design a new ‘bag for life’ – to be exclusively available at its new Hale Barns store.

The new outlet, which opens in April, will be Booths’ 31st store and forms the bedrock of the new Hale Barns Square.

Booths is now asking for creative designs for the bag from primary school pupils of all ages.

The winning pupil will be awarded £100 to invest in sports equipment or books for their school and an educational visit for their class to the new store, where pupils will meet local Booths producers and taste their produce.

Manager Matt Welsh said: “We are really excited to be joining the community in Hale Barns and are looking for an eye-catching design from a budding young artist that will look great in store.

“Sustainability is at the core of Booths’ values and we hope that the winning design will encourage Hale Barns shoppers to say no to plastic bags in favour of environmentally-friendly reusable ones.”
