Is snow set to return to Altrincham?
The Met Office has today issued a severe weather warning for snow in the Greater Manchester area on Monday.
The ‘yellow’ warning results from a “deep area of low pressure” that is set to bring “frequent hail, sleet and snow showers” across the region.
It said: “Across northern England accumulations to low levels are likely to be transient, whilst on hills 6-10 cm of snow is possible. Winds will be strong at times, with gusts to over 50 mph on coasts and hills.”
The warning covers Greater Manchester, Cheshire East, Blackburn with Darwen, Cumbria and Lancashire.
Altrincham has only seen a small amount of snow this winter, the most recent being last month.
