Burglars have stolen thousands of pounds’ worth of jewellery and other belongings in a burglary at a Timperley apartment that left the owners “devastated”.

The thieves broke into the apartment on Stockport Road on Wednesday between 6pm and 8.45pm.

They smashed a ground floor window in order to get in and then ransacked the property, before leaving with jewellery – including wedding rings – hand bags, sunglasses and wedding shoes.

Some of the brands stolen include Vivienne Westwood, Rolex and Christine Dior.

Police have now issued pictures of the stolen jewellery and are urging anyone who is offered these pieces to come forward.

Detective Constable Amy Colema,n of Trafford division, said: “Some of the stolen pieces are of huge sentimental value, particularly the wedding rings and shoes, and the victims are devastated.

“The thieves will try to sell these pieces on and I would urge people to be mindful of this when being offered any jewellery in the area.

“We have issued a number of pictures of the stolen pieces so if you are offered these or see them for sale on eBay or other internet auction sites then please contact police immediately.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0161 856 1718 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
