Police are hunting for a man who threatened a schoolgirl with a pair of scissors during a street robbery in Timperley.

Police are hunting for a man who threatened a schoolgirl with a pair of scissors during a street robbery in Timperley.

The 16-year-old was attacked at around 4.30pm on Thursday April 16th while walking on Mayfield Close (above).

Having first threatened to stab the victim with a pair of black-handled scissors, the offender, who was riding a bike, stole a white Apple iPhone.

He is described as a white male in his late 20s, of small to medium build with short dark stubble on his face and missing a tooth on the top right hand side.

He was wearing a grey and green horizontal striped hoodie and blue jeans, and spoke with a local accent. His bike was described as dark coloured.

Police are appealing for information from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have knowledge of the person responsible.
