An independent gift shop in Hale has launched a new concierge service that it says will offer shoppers a “totally unique” experience.
G.I.F.T. – standing for Great Ideas, Fabulous Things – was opened last November in Millfield Court and has quickly developed a loyal customer base attracted by its collection of unusual gifts and cards.
And now owner Louise Duerr has created a one-stop gift service designed for people who need to buy, wrap and send a birthday present – but are either away on holiday or simply too busy to get to the shop.

Duerr, who has lived in Hale for over 20 years, said: “Buying a present for somebody can be time-consuming – even after you’ve found the right gift, you need to choose a card, wrap and pack the gift and then queue up in the Post Office to get it posted!
“This service is designed to take care of the whole process for you, with the result that your friend or relative receives a unique and carefully chosen gift for their special occasion.”
To take advantage of the service, shoppers simply need to email louise@gifthale.uk with a budget and details of who they need to buy for.
G.I.F.T. will then select a variety of suitable items and email photos and prices back, and after an item is chosen, will take care of all the wrapping.
Shoppers can choose to receive the gift themselves or send it directly to the recipient – and G.I.F.T. will even include a handwritten greeting card. All payment can be processed online or over the phone by calling 07970 942 309.

G.I.F.T. will be six months old next month and Duerr said she is keen to ensure the shop offers “something for everybody in the family, from babies to grandpas”.
She added: “We’re always getting new things in, so from this week for instance we’ll be stocking a stunning Swedish jewellery range called Edblad and a fantastic selection of handmade organic cotton animals from America called Hazel Village.
“We’ll also be stocking a gorgeous range of natural soaps, balms and bath soaks from Ruth Romano, which are handmade by Ruth in her Cheshire workshop. It’s really important to me that we regularly change our stock around, so that no two visits to the shop are the same.”
