Police have confirmed that the group of travellers who set up camp in a Hale Park have now “moved on”.
The large fleet of caravans and other vehicles had arrived at Grove Park Playing Fields off Thorley Lane at around 9pm on Friday night.
They had said they were intending to stay as long as they could, but after being served a 24-hour eviction notice by Greater Manchester Police, the travellers left yesterday afternoon.

It’s understood that no force was required to remove the travellers.
One of the travellers had told us on Saturday that they had identified another patch of land in the Hale area to move to next, but as yet there are no sightings of the group elsewhere in Altrincham.
