Altrincham schoolboy Harry Proctor opened Asda’s new 40,000 sq ft store in Broadheath yesterday.
The seven-year-old, who attends Bowdon Church School, won a competition to design the store’s personalised Bag For Life.
The store also welcomed Mark Gordon, chairman of Bowdon Rugby Club, at the official opening.
The new store, on George Richards Way, has created around 300 jobs.
The Asda Living store at Altrincham Retail Park closed on Sunday ahead of the new store’s opening.
