A woman had her bag stolen during an assault in Altrincham town centre last night.
The victim was walking to her car when she was approached by a man on Railway Street at around 6.30pm.
After first asking her for money, he then hit her on the head when she would not release her handbag.
The offender continued to assault the woman, hitting her on the arm until she was forced to let go and the man escaped with the bag.
Police say they are looking for a man described as white, aged 25/27, 5’7, medium build, wearing a black puffer jacket, black jeans and a black hat.
