Three armed men wearing balaclavas were caught red-handed by police last night as they appeared to be about to carry out a raid on the Nisa store in Oldfield Brow.
The men had been “observed” by officers and were quickly arrested when entering the shop yesterday evening on Seamons Road.
Police said one of the males required hospital treatment after being bit in the face by a police dog, while another was tasered after threatening an officer with a machete.
Nobody in the shop was hurt. Police said the arrests were “excellent news”.
