Should 550 homes be introduced into the town centre over the next 15 years? Should parking in the town centre be overhauled? Should town centre retail be focused on the Stamford Quarter?
From tomorrow – via this online questionnaire here – you can have your say on these and many other issues that form a 15-year plan for the future of Altrincham.
It’s the final stage of a consultation process on how to revitalise the town centre and set priorities for its development over the next 15 years.
So far more than 2,000 residents and business owners have given their opinion on earlier versions of the ‘Neighbourhood Business Plan’.
The six-week consultation begins tomorrow and lasts until Monday February 29th.
The final draft plan is the result of two years’ work by a group of more than 100 community volunteers, known as the Altrincham Neighbourhood Business Forum. The group came together through their mutual concern about how the town had deteriorated, and it has been formally designated by Trafford Council to undertake the task.
Once this phase of consultation is complete, residents and businesses will be given the opportunity to vote for or against the plan.
If they vote for it, Trafford Council must adopt the plan and use it as the basis for all their town centre planning decisions through to 2030.
Chair of the Forum, Tony Collier, said: “We truly value everyone’s contributions and ideas to date. This plan really does belong to the people and businesses of Altrincham, It is their town and that’s why we need to keep up the momentum and obtain views as we prepare to take forward this Final Draft Plan.
“It takes only a few moments to fill in the questionnaire online and hard copies of the forms will also be available when we undertake a series of roadshow events at leading local venues in the area during the rest of January and February – details for those dates also appear on our website, you can also keep an eye out for us on Twitter and Facebook.”
