Lee Sinnott has left his post as manager of Altrincham after five years in charge.
The Moss Lane club this afternoon confirmed the 50-year-old had left the club, with the Robins currently fourth from bottom in the Vanarama National League.
Chairman Grahame Rowley said he was “extremely sorry” to see Sinnott leave.
Sinnott, who had been the second longest serving manager in the National League, joined the club after Altrincham suffered relegation in 2011 and, after a season of consolidation, the side pushed for promotion which was eventually achieved in 2014 with a play-off win against Guiseley.
Last season he guided the club to the safety of 17th but the Robins have struggled to maintain any kind of consistency.
Last night the club slid to a 3-2 home defeat to Gateshead, their 16th defeat of a league campaign that has brought only eight wins in 35 games.
Rowley said: “It has been a privilege to work with Lee, a man of integrity and honesty. I am extremely sorry to see him go, his shoes will be hard to fill. Altrincham Football Club are proud to have had him as their manager.”
Neil Tolson will act as caretaker manager for the game at Barrow on Saturday.
