The plaudits keep on coming for Honest Crust – the Altrincham Market pizzeria is officially one of the world’s best.
The wood-fired pizza joint is one of 1,700 from 48 countries across the globe to be included in a new guidebook, Where to Eat Pizza, compiled by food critic Daniel Young.
Young used his own knowledge of the food industry, as well as information from chefs, critics and other industry experts to track down the best pizza places.
“Richard Carver (Honest Crust owner) is the founding father of the craft pizza movement in Greater Manchester,” Young said.
“Oddly, he drew inspiration not from Naples or even London but from Pizzerias in San Fransisco. Now he is the friend and guru to Jim Morgan of Rudy’s and other artisans, geeks and, inevitably, hipsters who, working with their hands, will reshape the pizza landscape in the North West.”
Carver said that inclusion in the book was “a great honour and a testament to the hard work of our team who are making pizza day in day out at Market House”.
The only other North West pizzeria included in the guidebook is Rudy’s Neapolitan Pizza in Ancoats.
Two weeks ago, Honest Crust was named one of the UK’s 20 best pizzerias by the Sunday Times.
