A young woman is in a “life-threatening condition” after a collision with a car on the A56 Manchester Road this evening.
Numerous emergency vehicles were called to the scene – close to the Toyota dealership near to the junction with Park Road – at around 6.15pm.
A black Vauxhall car was parked close to the scene with a shattered windscreen.
Paramedics were seen given the person CPR on the pavement.
Manchester Road is currently closed off between the junctions with Park Road and Stamford Brook Road.
The junction with Park Road has been in the spotlight recently for the introduction of a new one-lane system which some have said has made the junction dangerous to navigate.
