Booming Altrincham gets another night-time destination tonight – a new cocktail lounge bar on Ashley Road called Aurous.
The bar, named after the word meaning “of or relating to gold”, is on the site of former bars Blue Dog and Heart & Soul.
The owners have given the new bar a complete revamp and will officially launch tonight with a party that’s open to all.
Manager Michael Carr said: “We wanted to bring a touch of class to Altrincham and we saw this as the perfect opportunity to do that. We’ve chosen gold as the theme to reflect the gold standard you will get when you come here.
“We don’t want it to be exclusive or intimidating – we want everyone to feel welcome and to enjoy a fantastic night out.”
As well as cocktails, wines, spirits and beers, Aurous has partnered up with Oxford Road Cafe and will be offering a tapas-style food menu.
Aurous opens at 4.30pm today with the official launch party lasting from 8pm to 1am. There will be a glass of Champagne or Prosecco on arrival and free canapés and menu samples.
