Police are looking for a man who attempted to lure a 13-year-old girl into his car in Hale.
The incident happened at 1.15pm on Hale Road on Friday.
The girl was walking along the pavement when she was stopped by a man who asked for directions to Hale Country Club.
When the girl gave directions, he asked if she wanted a lift as it was raining. When the girl refused, the man is said to have insisted, but the girl walked away and the man drove off.
It’s thought the man may have been driving a grey Toyota, although police have been unable to confirm this.
Police are now studying CCTV as part of their investigations into the incident.
Parents at the nearby Stamford Park school have been warned to be vigilant and children at the school have been advised to take care.
