Altrincham pub and restaurant Tavern On The Green is to launch regular live music nights from Friday.
The Stamford New Road venue, which re-opened as a craft ale pub and Pieminster pie restaurant in June, has enjoyed a successful first few weeks in operation.
And from this week, it is introducing a live music night to follow its popular two-for-one offer on cocktails between 5 and 8pm on Fridays.
The first act is folk/indie duo Ellis and I, followed by up and coming singer-songwriter Jess Kemp on Friday August 19th and Welsh four-piece Baby Brave on Sunday August 28th.
And general manager Sam Foster told us he’s hoping the new nights will help Tavern On The Green help cement its place as a real community pub.
He said: “Over the years you see loads and loads of pubs come and go, and to really get under the skin of the community you’ve got to offer people reasons to visit – it’s no good just opening the doors and hoping they turn up. You’ve got to really give people reasons to come.
“Our quiz nights have gone really well and there’s also been a lot of interaction with our SpotiFridays request nights, and we just have a feeling that live music will fit really well with the pub and go down well with our customers.”
The pub will also be organising a weekly mic night, when a host will come in and bring three guest performers with them.
Ellis and I will be performing at Tavern On The Green this Friday, July 29th, from 8pm.
