A 16-year-old boy was kicked off his bike after being confronted by a gang of around 10 youths in Timperley last night.
The incident took place at 8.30pm at the junction of Riddings Road and Park Road.
One of the gang, a male, kicked the boy off his mountain bike and rode the bike towards Timperley Metrolink station.
On seeing police arrive, the youths made off in different directions, leaving the bike.
Police have asked people to remain vigilant and avoid groups of youths and try not to have phones or other valuables on show.
The incident happened not long after a robbery in Hale village which saw a boy robbed and threatened after being approached by a gang of youths. Police have not said whether the two events are in any way connected.
