A Good Samaritan came to the rescue of a partially sighted man who was threatened and robbed on a Timperley street.
The victim was walking along Stockport Road on Tuesday when he was approached by a man who asked him for a cigarette.
The offender then began to argue with the victim, threatening him with a bottle of beer before rifling through his bag and stealing a pair of sunglasses.
Police added that a woman who had witnessed the incident while driving her car turned back to help the victim and drive him home.
They describe the offender as a slim, black male with short trimmed facial hair and short thin dreadlocks to the shoulder.
He was wearing a black ‘bucket hat’ with grey lining, a lightweight black bomber jacket, three-quarter length cargo shorts and a black t-shirt with an orange/white logo on the chest.
The offender was with a second male, described as white and wearing shorts, although he did not have any involvement in the incident and walked off.
