A cyclist was jumped by two men in Timperley earlier today before being kicked and punched as he lay on the floor.
The male was riding his bike on Thorsby Road in the early hours of this morning when two males jumped out at him, forcing him to brake suddenly.
The offenders then pushed the cyclist off his bike and repeatedly kicked and punched him as he was lying on the floor.
A couple of witnesses attempted to help the victim, but the attack continued before the men stole the bike and escaped.
A spokesperson for GMP Trafford South said: “The victim was very badly shaken by the ordeal and was taken to hospital with a head injury, although he has since been discharged.”
Enquiries are ongoing and an investigation has been launched.
Anyone with any information about the attack should contact the police on 101 or contact the Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
