Altrincham will take to the field in Saturday’s Vanarama National League North home fixture against Salford City in a unique shirt to commemorate Remembrance weekend.
Having gained approval from the National League and the club’s main sponsor, J Davidson Scrap, the Robins will be wearing a special shirt featuring a large poppy with the words ‘Lest We Forget’ in the centre of the shirt.
The special shirts have been supplied by Altrincham FC’s kit supplier, Ian Senior of SKkits.
He said: “I have had the sample shirt signed by all the staff. I will be getting it framed to auction, with monies going to the Royal British Legion. The reserve bid is £100 and bids can be registered by contacting me on 07960 137232.
“My intentions with the playing shirts is to auction them after the game in The Altrincham FC Community Sports Hall, again with all proceeds going to The Royal British Legion.”
