Work on a new 59-apartment block in the centre of Altrincham has been delayed – but the company behind the scheme says that work WILL begin early in the new year.
We reported in April how detailed planning permission for the “iconic” Moss Lane development – Phase One of the long-awaited £70m Altair scheme – had been granted and that construction was due to start this summer.
That date has been delayed but a final contract agreement is due to be signed off with the main contractor, Eric Wright Construction, in the next fortnight with clearance works beginning on the site shortly after.
Hillcrest Homes, the company delivering the development which will comprise 36 one-bedroom and 23 two-bedroom apartments, has confirmed to us that they expect construction to then begin by late January or early February.
Assuming that all goes to plan, the apartments will now be completed by June/July 2018.
The apartments – which will feature a roof terrace, private balconies, German designer kitchens, integrated ‘A’ grade appliances and bathrooms by Villeroy & Boch – will be released for off-plan sales next year.
Nikal’s Phase One plans for Altair also include a new entrance for Altrincham Ice Rink and a new landscaped pedestrianised area with space for outside seating and pavement cafés.
