Police have released an efit of a man they are hunting after £2,000 of jewellery was stolen from an elderly couple in Timperley yesterday.

Police have released an efit of a man they are hunting after £2,000 of jewellery was stolen from an elderly couple in Timperley yesterday.

The incident took place at a house on Langdale Close at around 3.45pm yesterday afternoon.

A man was seen hanging around the couple’s home and was confronted by a concerned neighbour.

He pretended to be a family member and once the neighbour had returned to her house, the offender opened the front door of the victims’ house and walked upstairs.

The elderly lady then confronted the man as he was coming back down the stairs and attempted to stop him from leaving, but the offender pushed past her and escaped with over £2,000 worth of jewellery.
