Marks & Spencer reveals opening date for Hale store

Marks & Spencer has confirmed it is to open its new Hale food hall next month.

Marks & Spencer has confirmed it is to open its new Hale food hall next month.

The British retail giant had hoped to open in the Ashley Road unit previously occupied by The Co-operative by Christmas, but the launch has been delayed by complications with the fit-out.

Rumours had circulated that these had involved the discovery of asbestos in the building, although M&S have not confirmed that. The Co-op actually vacated the site last March and it had originally been hoped that M&S would be in by the summer.

They have confirmed however that its new store will be opening “early in February”.

An M&S spokesperson told us: “We’re excited to be opening an M&S Foodhall and bringing our exciting product range to customers in Hale early in February.”
