Home furnishings retailer Dunelm has revealed it will finally open its new Altrincham store on Tuesday February 28th.
The 30,000 sq ft store at Bridgewater Retail Park has been a long time coming – contracts were originally exchanged back in June 2015 and an original opening date scheduled for spring 2016.
But after a considerable renovation project at the park – which now also boasts a Bensons for Beds and a revamped Halfords – the new Dunelm is almost ready to open.
The retailer says it has made a “significant investment” in the store, which will create 60 new jobs, and there’ll also be a separate mezzanine floor and a Pausa cafe.
Over 20,000 home furnishing products will be on offer across homewares, furniture and garden.
Dunelm’s Made to Measure Bespoke Service will also be available, allowing shoppers to choose from over 4,000 fabrics to create curtains, blinds and accessories.
On sale will be products from the likes of Dorma, Fogarty, Joseph Joseph and Brabantia, as well as Dunelm’s own Elements and Hotel brands.
The new store’s manager, Suzannah Bolton, said: “We are looking forward to becoming a new neighbour to the Altrincham community. There is a strong retail offering within the town but we’ve spotted a gap in the market for Dunelm’s extensive collection of homewares and hope we can cater for the diverse range of shoppers within the community.
“We have an exciting opening day planned and we hope the local community will join us at our official opening day on Tuesday 28 February.”
Dunelm, which turned over £881m in the 12 months to July 2016, has 157 stores in the UK and plans to open a further five this year.
It was founded by Bill Adderley and his wife Jean, with the first store opening in Leicester in 1984.
