[dropcap=”circle”]The 24-year-old son of Chris Sievey, the man behind Frank Sidebottom, has died after his bike was involved in a collision with a car in Withington last night.
Emergency services were called to an incident involving two cyclists and a Vauxhall Corsa on Mauldeth Road West at 10.15pm on Sunday evening.
One of the cyclists, whose name has not been officially released but has been named locally as Harry Sievey, was taken to hospital in an ambulance but sadly later died.
Harry was the youngest of Chris Sievey’s three children and gave the eulogy at Chris’s funeral following his death in 2010 at the age of just 54.

Harry, who was a musician and worked at Cooper Hall in Manchester, played his part in raising funds for the Frank Sidebottom status in Timperley village, which he helped to unveil in 2013.
