A couple were threatened at knifepoint and bundled into a cupboard during a violent armed robbery in Timperley on Wednesday.
Police were called to Somerville Gardens at 8pm on Wednesday to reports of an armed robbery.
Four masked men smashed a rear door before forcing a man to the floor, holding a knife to his face and demanding cash.
Two of the raiders then dragged the man upstairs and forced him to open a safe while a third ransacked draws and cupboards.
A fourth assailant then brought a woman downstairs from the bathroom before forcing her and the man inside a cupboard and barricading them in with furniture.
The gang then fled the scene with cash and jewellery.
Detective Sergeant Lee Attenborough, of GMP’s Trafford division, said: “These men inflicted a shocking and terrifying ordeal on this couple and they have both been left extremely shaken.
“Not only were they threatened with a knife, they were then forced into a cupboard while these men rooted through their possessions.
“I’d urge anyone who knows anything that can help our investigation to come forward, you could hold a vital piece of information.
“We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw a suspicious group of men in the Henley Drive or Moss Lane area at the time.”
Anyone with information should call police on 101, quoting incident number 2112 of 08/03/17, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
