Altrincham Grammar School for Boys’s First XI has reached the final of the English Schools Football Association Cup competition for the first time.

In previous years AGSB has come close as semi finalists and quarter finalists but the current squad has gone one better, beating Balby Carr Community Academy to reach the final.

Tim Gartside, Head Master, said: “We have a strong squad with excellent players in all areas of the field alongside a great team spirit. There have been a few injuries along the way but never a dip in team performance.”

The school will play the final against Millfield School (the winners of the Southern half of the draw) at Doncaster Rovers’ ground on Wednesday 29th March.
