Fine dining has arrived in Bowdon with the official launch of Borage restaurant on Vicarage Lane.
Mariusz Dobies, the former executive chef at Michael Caines in Manchester, has teamed up with Veronika Janusova to open their first restaurant together, named after the Mediterranean borage herb.
The Polish pair acquired the former Coffee & Kitchen cafe in January and have spent the time revamping the space and developing a fine dining offer.
Alongside a daily a la carte menu, Mariusz and Veronika will be hosting monthly gourmet nights featuring up to 10-course tasting menus.
The next event is on Wednesday April 19th and will feature an eight-course menu cooked by Mariusz and acclaimed chef Robert Cox.
Robert has worked at some of the UK’s finest restaurants including L’Enclume in Cartmel and is currently executive chef at Tudor Farmhouse Hotel in the Forest of Dean, last year named Hotel of the Year by Sawday’s Guide.
Places at the event cost just £45, with bring-you-own alcohol, although Borage has applied for a licence that it hopes to have in place by the end of the month.
Mariusz told us: “Borage is about great food for all the family, and every month we will be hosting gourmet evenings when you will be able to enjoy an extra special menu from some fine chefs.
“We look forward to welcoming everyone from regulars to new customers.”
