A number of teachers who were suspended after allegedly throwing an “unauthorised party” to celebrate the dismissal of the former headteacher at Bollin Primary School have today returned to the classroom.

Seven teachers were originally suspended in the wake of the incident, which occurred shortly before the school was temporarily closed by Trafford Council in February.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing, but five of the teachers have returned to the Bowdon school after the Easter break.

Councillor Brian Rigby, chairman of the school’s interim executive board, has also confirmed that former head Michelle Brindle has now formally left the school.

A new headteacher, Kylie Spark, was appointed in March.

Last week, an emergency Ofsted report recommended that the school should be placed in special measures, describing it as “in tatters” and “broken”.
