An elderly woman was robbed at Navigation Road Metrolink Station yesterday – by a woman who had helped her off the tram.
Police have described how the victim had been assisted off the tram by a female in her 50s shortly after 1pm.
But they said the woman then “took advantage of the victim’s vulnerability” and stole her purse out of her handbag.
A female matching the description was found nearby and arrested. She’s now been released pending further investigation.
Police have asked for any witnesses to the incident to come forward – call 101 quoting log number 1088 from 02/05/17.
