The team behind the new Stamford Arms has revealed more details about its plans for the Bowdon pub – and it includes up to three restaurants, a cocktail bar, bakery and deli.

We revealed last month how, after an 18-month closure, redevelopment work on the popular pub has finally got underway after plans were given the green light by the council.

It’s now set to reopen late next month as The Stamford Kitchen & Tap Co, with room for 180 diners.

And now, in a recruitment post, the pub has said it has completely revamped the pub and introduced a “feature dining room” complete with open kitchen, meat-ageing room and wood-fired open grill.

And once plans for a new first-floor terrace and retractable roof have been approved, there are plans to open a “boutique pizza restaurant and cocktail bar” for a further 70 covers.

The Stamford told us that they are hoping to be able to open the main ground floor by late June.

Later this month, they will also be meeting with planning officers to discuss resubmitted plans for the first floor.

The post also reveals that the new owners are planning to renovate the outbuildings within The Stamford’s grounds to create a separate 150-cover restaurant and bar – based on a new concept – as well as an on-site bakery and deli.

It added that the new Stamford development would be “sparkly and new, quirky and amazingly beautiful” and would “bring something new and fresh to the local dining scene”.

The new leaseholders are experienced restaurateurs Alex Bracken, Rhitu Parihar and Nicholas Theaker, who all work for Dubai-based hospitality company 4-Front Facilities Management. Theaker was previously the general manager of Simon Rimmer’s Earle restaurant in Hale before moving to take the same post at Rimmer’s The Scene restaurant in Dubai.

The deal they signed earlier in the year gives them a 25-year lease on the property, which is owned by the Greene King brewery, with the automatic right to renew the lease when it expires.
