A popular Goose Green venue has opened a new private party space that it says is the “most fun you can have” in the centre of Altrincham.
Since opening almost three years ago, Polynesian-themed Traders’ Tiki Bar has become a hugely popular fixture on the Altrincham scene.
And after the closure of French restaurant Francs presented an opportunity to expand upstairs, the bar has finally conceded to customers’ requests to open a completely refurbished private space.
Continuing the Polynesian theme with bamboo walls, straw roofs, table barrels and TVs that double as aquariums, it’s essentially a beach bar in the middle of town.
Its events manager, Natalie McGrath, said: “We were inundated with requests for bookings at weekends which we just couldn’t facilitate as an exclusive venue. We’d always have to pass them on to other Altrincham businesses.
“When Francs closed it presented an opportunity to move upstairs. So now, on a Friday or Saturday or indeed any night, we can have a fully operational bar downstairs while a party can operate completely independently and exclusively in what is essentially a carbon copy of downstairs, with its own bar, DJ, doorman, cloakroom and toilets. So now we can do an event on the weekend!”
The new bar has only just hosted its first event – a corporate party who “couldn’t have been happier”, Natalie said – and has already secured bookings for everything from 40ths to christenings and kids’ themed parties.
“We don’t believe that there’s a more fun space in the centre of Altrincham for parties,” added Natalie.
“It’s ultimate escapism for a venue – when you’re in there you’re immersed in Disneyland.”
