The Stamford pub in Bowdon recently reopened under new owners after a major refurbishment.
And now the pub’s former function room – transformed into a “feature dining room” complete with open kitchen, meat-ageing room and wood-fired open grill – has started to serve food, with room for 180 diners.
Once plans for a new first-floor terrace and retractable roof have been approved, the pub is also hoping to open a “boutique pizza restaurant and cocktail bar” for a further 70 covers.
Future plans involve the renovation of outbuildings within The Stamford’s grounds to create a separate 150-cover restaurant and bar – based on a new concept – as well as an on-site bakery and deli.
