Five masked men steal “substantial” amount of cash in armed robbery at Timperley Conservative Club

Police are appealing for information after five masked men carried out an armed robbery on Timperley Conservative & Social Club.

Police are appealing for information after five masked men carried out an armed robbery on Timperley Conservative & Social Club.

Officers were called to the Heyes Lane club shortly after midnight on Monday July 31st.

They discovered that two female staff members had been confronted by five men wearing masks when they went to lock the club up for the night.

The men threatened the women with a spade and a sharp pole, forcing them to open the club’s safe.

Once they had access, these five men stole a substantial amount of cash from the safe and made off in grey Ford Focus that belonged to one of the victims.

This car was recovered from Rowarth Road in Wythenshawe a few hours after the robbery.

Detective Constable Simon Johnson, of GMP’s Trafford Borough, said: “These women were simply doing their job in working at the club.

“The last thing they expected was to be threatened with weapons by not one, but five men, late at night.

“I’m urging anyone who was near the Conservative Club at the time, saw the car on Rowarth Road, or has any information about who is responsible to please get in touch with police.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 0161 856 7863 or 101, quoting incident number 0019 of 31/07/17, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
