A man’s body has been found close to the Waitrose supermarket in Broadheath.
Shortly after 9am this morning, police were called to reports of a body being found under a bridge near Sinderland Road.
Officers attended and discovered the body of a man. His death is not being treated as suspicious.
Enquiries are currently ongoing as police look to confirm his identity.
Police have not released any further information about the deceased.
