Hale nightclub Suburbia has ceased trading after going into administration.

Liquidation specialist CG & Co has been appointed to handle the administration of the Ashley Road business, whose registered name is Suburbia Cocktail Company Ltd.

The company was jointly owned by Tom Thornton-Brookes and Chris Howard, who had acquired the site from Living Ventures – who had owned it since October 2009 – three years ago.

It had been Hale’s only nightclub.

Any creditors are now being asked to come forward by September 30th, and Robson Kay Associates has been appointed to try to sell the company’s assets.

Suburbia also has a bar in Manchester city centre but that is operated by a subsidiary company called Suburbia Manchester Ltd. 60% of that company’s shares are owned by Suburbia Cocktail Company Ltd.

Living Ventures had originally opened the club in October 2009
