Co-working hub Altspace is to move to a new 3,000 sq ft base in the New Year – six times bigger than its current home on Stamford New Road.
The move to a new location in Kennedy House on Stamford Street comes after a successful first 12 months of trading in Altrincham which has seen over 200 independent workers through the door and a further 100 visiting for events or a tour.
The new specially designed floor will provide private offices for companies, hot desks for remote workers and bookable meeting rooms.
It will look to offer all of the services required by modern businesses within a “collaborative environment”.
altspace founder Steve Upham told us: “The coworking movement has taken off across Manchester as a whole and there’s also been a growing demand for space from small companies who wish to work together in Altrincham.
“I’m investing in this new larger office to give greater support to small businesses and remote workers wishing to work in our thriving market town.”
Following a career working in media and the charity sector in London, Upham and his wife moved up North last year and opened the doors to altspace in January.
“My visits to a variety of venues, cafes and offices highlighted the benefits of working with a diverse range of people from different backgrounds and industries,” he said.
Altspace offers a variety of membership options from as little as £9 a day for a hot desk without a joining up fee. A full time membership costs £210 a month.
The private offices will be offered on one-year contracts while remote workers can take up a rolling monthly membership.
The new base, which will be open from 8am to 8pm from January, will have break out areas and a communal kitchen and dining area, as well as quiet zones.
