Man arrested after victim forced to withdraw money from cashpoint after being threatened at knifepoint in own home

A man has been arrested after the occupants of an Altrincham house were threatened at knifepoint before one of them was forced to withdraw money at a nearby cashpoint.

A man has been arrested after the occupants of an Altrincham house were threatened at knifepoint before one of them was forced to withdraw money at a nearby cashpoint.

Shortly before 11pm on Thursday 11th January, police were called to reports of a robbery on The Downs in Altrincham.

A man had entered a property and threatened the people inside with a knife.

He then forced one of the victims to drive to a cashpoint where he forced them to withdraw money.

At this point the victim managed to escape and after a short police pursuit, a 39-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of robbery.
