Timperley’s last remaining bank, Barclays on Park Road, is to close down.
The branch will be shutting for the final time on Friday May 4th.
In a letter to customers, the bank said that while a decision to close a branch was “never an easy one”, it reflected the fact that fewer and fewer customers were using the bank for their everyday banking.
The news means that both Timperley’s main banks will have closed within a year of each other.
Last June, NatWest in Timperley closed its doors just two days after shutting its Hale branch.
Other banks in the town have also closed recently, including TSB and Yorkshire Bank in Altrincham town centre.
