A pop-up craft ale bar is to open for the duration of the World Cup in Kings Court.
The Libero bar, located in the secluded courtyard off Railway Street in the centre of Altrincham, opens this Friday at 1pm and will close on Sunday 15th July.
Friends and football fans Paul Rooney (pictured above) and Ian Smythe not only play for Chorlton Athletic FC but are big fans of the style aspects surrounding football, which they’ve combined with their love of craft beers to create the bar.
Rooney said: “We have created a venue that will appeal to a broad demographic and one which people will feel comfortable in while enjoying an excellent pint of beer watching the World Cup, tucked away from more raucous fans.”
Rooney, a former PE teacher and football coach who is originally from Altrincham, works for Jack in the Box at Altrincham Market. He met Smythe, a deputy head teacher in Poynton, at college.
Daniel Lee, director at Regional Property Solutions who let the niche space on behalf of the landlord Wizard Trading (Europe) Ltd, said: “This space has recently become available and the Pop Up concept was an appealing local initiative for the duration of the World Cup and Kings Court provided the ideal location.”
The 250 sq ft premises are let for six weeks at an all-inclusive rent of £1,500.
