A man was seriously injured last night in a crash at a junction in Altrincham.
The collision between a grey Citroen C1 and white Toyota Prius happened shortly after 10pm at the junction of Manchester Road and George Richards Way/Viaduct Road.
One man suffered serious injuries but five other casualties were believed to have freed themselves from the wreckage.
A Greater Manchester Fire Service spokeswoman confirmed that two fire engines attended from Altrincham and Sale, along with a technical response unit from Ashton-Under-Lyne, at 10.37pm.
She added: “Firefighters used specialist cutting equipment to rescue the casualty. Paramedics assessed all of those involved with in the incident at the scene. They were then taken to hospital as a precaution.”
